CPU question

I am getting ready to build my computer and just bought the ASUS A8N32 delux SLI motherboard. But I just found out that AMD is comming out with the M2 processors next year which is socket 940. How long will socket 939 processors be around? should I cancel my socket 939 motherboard and wait to build???
 
im not sure, but i think someone told me this would work....putting a 940 socket processor in an socket 939 mobo. i will try to find the post.

EDIT: i found the post and it says that it will work with a socket 940 mobo and a socket 939 processor. dont know if it will work your way though.

when will they stop? they should stick with one type of memory 1 type of cpu socket 1 type of video card socket. just for 1 or 2 years would be nice
 
NOPE that is wrong ALL WRONG !!

the new M2 sockets pin layout config is all different for One !!!
And 2 the new M2 will use DDR2 !!! witch will require different type of DIMM slots !!!

If you wait for the M2 socket they are only going to release summin new after that !!! It is almost impossible to stay on top of technology !

well then they wouldnt be able to advance technology as much, but i see what your saying.
 
Do you think that AMD will continue to advance the socket 939 processors or will it be a washout???

Just relax man. Some of you are acting as though release of new hardware is going to make your computers useless and obsolete. I know people that still buy 754 pin athlons even though there are better 939's. That's like getting rid of your car everytime a new car gets released.

If they did that then we would still be using extremely slow computers, we should be thankful that technology keeps advancing because if it weren't it wouldn't be much use to us.
