CPU shuts down

I have a computer with this mobo.
It came with a CoreDuo E2180.
We needed to change the cpu with a P4.
Doing that, caused the computer to shutdown, while booting or loading windows, and sometimes in windows.

I really think this is a frequency problem, how can i resolve it ? :confused:

additional info ::

using CoreDuo :
FSB frequency = 200
SPD = Enable

I returned the original processor in place and i get the same problem.
Could it be a problem with the motherboard ?

Get PCWizard and chekc your temps. If they are high, then re-apply the thermal grease. Otherwise, it could be a mobo problem, or your hard drive is breaking.

My luck in getting into windows has narrowed down, so basically i wont be able to install the program. The farthest it reaches is the boot screen and shuts off :mad:

the hard drive is ok, so its out of our problem
