howdy this is my first post here sence it seems my cpu's temp is a bit over board it isnt over clocked or nothing i felt the heatskin its like cold i rigged a dell case fan to it sence i have an aftermarket case, the case has like 5-6 fans in it any ideas why it says its up that high?

thermal paste between the cpu and heatsink? Mines idling at 33c right now. The maximum temps for a cpu is like double what you have there so anything well under 70c and your probably fine. btw us that idle or under load?

Listing your computer specs and processor would help us with your problem better.

Though the normal dual-core/quad-core will idle around 25c to 40c depending on your room temp and how well your case is ventilated.

If the sink is cool at the bottom then I would have to say that you need to reaply the thermal paste or the heat sink is not set correctly on the processor or the thermal paste has a air bubble in it.
