CPU Suggestions?

I am getting ready to build a new desktop shortly and was looking for some input. I was thinking of either the AMD Phenom 9600 2.3 GHz or the Intel Q6600 2.4 GHz quad cores. Which should I choose? Or should I just stick with one of the faster dual cores? Looking for general performance opinions.
 
I have an AMD 2.11GHZ dual core and it is working fine.

I would go with the AMD, Very very good!

AMD's Phenom leaves a lot to be desired. A decent AMD dual-core is great if you're on a budget, but if you're able to spend $250 on a processor, another $200+ on a mobo, then I guess you and I are on different budget planes. :)
 
amd x2, the 6000+. is the best, its perfect...even though the heatsink sticker is a bit fof center

The Q6600 is better than any of the Phenoms out right now and overclocks better. If your bound to have a Phenom atleast wait till the B3 stepping comes out.
