CPU Temp Help

My AMD XP 2800+ (Barton Core) is running a temperature of 61 degrease Celsius idle  . I don’t have A/C in my house. I would like to know of any good heatsinks for my CPU right now I’m running the stock heatsink.

have you oc'd, the stock cooler should keep it cooler than that.
Have you tried reapplying the thermal greece, you need a smooth even thin layer

It’s not OC
I might reapply my thermal grease but I still would like to buy a better heatsink and fan.

Whats the ambient room temperature? 61C isnt too bad for stock cooling if the ambient temps are like 30C or something

THAT's REALLY BAD, what's wrong with you people!*$@(# My room temp. is over 103+ degrees fahrenheit. Yet my Pentium 4 560 still runs at 49-54 degrees celcius at idle with stock cooling and no ac, 1 case fan, psu has passive cooling. SO that's very unnormal dude. SUggest you invest in more case fans, perhaps a better heatsink/fan, etc. You should be getting below 50 degrees celcius with that processor.

how can you stand your room being over 100*F? since you live in Hawaii i would think you have A/C. But my cpu is around 45C idle, when my room temp went to about 85, then it rose quite alot. But i can stand having my room much above 80*F lol, i have 2 fans blowing on me right now as i type.

I have the Thermaltake Golf325 with a 90mm UFO Twin Blade Fan on my Athlon XP 2600+ and my temps are around 35C idle and 40C full load, i have also O/Ced as well. I'st a great looking HSF but it's really vour own presonal preference.
