cpu temp question

Hi, I was rendering a image in Creo parametric 2.0 and after quite a while of rendering (100% cpu usage) i saw the temperature was at about 97 degrees C, although now ive aborted the rendering it has returned to about 64 degrees.
Should it have jumped to that temp when at 100%?, it is running a stock cooler.

The cpu is a i5 760

That's why it went up so high. Stock coolers are small and, while effective, aren't going to keep your CPU temps as low during heavy usage as a good-quality aftermarket one.
