CPU temperature query

Hello Im currently using an Intel Core i7 930 2.8Ghz, around a week ago I overclocked the processor to 3.6Ghz which has made a noticable difference to certain games I've been playing. I was monitoring the temperatures and when the load gets fairly heavy they will rise to roughly 70/75 degrees. I have a stock heatsink (Fan) at the moment but seriously considering a contained water cooler. I've been looking at the 'Corsair h80'

I just have a few questions.. (If changed for the new cooler) Will it make much of a difference to the temperatures? Will I notice any better performance? Is there much point in me buying a new one?

Thankyou in advance for any feedback :)

A new cooler will not only reduce the temperature of the CPU, but also extend the life of the CPU. Overclcking with poor cooling can reduce a CPU's life.

You don't necessarily need to go water cooled. That's personal preference. A good solid air cooler should be much better than the stock Intel fan.

All true. Stock cooler isn't really fit for overclocking. Corsair H60 will be quite very good, and if you change a fan on it to something like Fractal Designe, it will also be quiet.

For your set up, I'd personally recommend Noctua's aircoolers, any one of them will be heavens above the stock cooler.

Noctua's coolers are great but they are expensive and HUGE. I use the Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 myself with an overclocked 2500K, works a treat and it was much cheaper than a Noctua. Another good one I'd recommend is the Cooler Master Hyper 212+.
