cpu temps a little high

my pc is pretty much idle right now and while looking at evga e-leet it says my processor temps are in the 40C.

i am a bit confused on how that can be.
my specs are in my sig including my cpu cooler that i am using.
my system temp is around 24C

any help will be appreciated.

Im not sure about Core i7 but 40 Celsius is more than normal on a Core 2 Quad. I don't think you have anything to worry about at all.

Well, I really don't think it will affect your overclocking as long as you have an after market cooler, then you should be fine. But i have heard others say that their 920 runs @ around 38-44c, so i wouldn't worry too much about it.

Stock mine runs at about 27to 29c. Right now with it OC'd to 4GHZ it idles around 36 to 39.

I have never used the "E-leet" software so I can not say much about it but I know this program: Realtemp works very well.

If Realtemp still says your CPU is around 40c, I would take the heatsink off, clean off all the thermal paste and start over again.

so i dled realtemp and i am getting temps around 38-39C while idle. also when i run the test sensors i get some inconsistent results. one time i got all 13 while another time i got two 17 and two 7s.

now there is another problem. my computer seems to freeze randomly. it just started. i noticed that it was starting up much slower than normal. and it would freeze not long after windows would load.
i have restarted it to no results and then i shut off the computer and when i restarted it it seemed to start up as before the problem. but then after running the Test Sensors thing. it freezes up or it will freeze up a bit later. but eventually it will freeze up

i am really confused

ok well i just checked my cpu temp in the bios and it says 29C
NB temp :40C
VREG temp: 46C
system temp : 23C

i am confused
and anybody have any idea about the problem with my system randomly freezing on me?
