cpu thing

hi,
this is connected to cpu from another angle.
i run processor m 740. and in windows task manager i run 58 processes.
is this alot? i think it is because there are tons of processes i dont use, like iPodService.exe, LogitechDesktopManager.exe non of them are in my taskbar. is this ok? how can i get rid of it because it is probably eating cpu, and ram.

If you run msconfig and go to the startup tab you can see what all is loading with windows and remove anything you don't want. Also check your startup folder in the start menu.

58 isn't that many, on the workstation I'm on now there's 57 running.
 
msconfig is really for trouble shooting, think about what programs you dont want to start with windows go into there settings and most will have something worded like startup with windows and uncheck it!
