CPU upgrade assistance

i am thinking of upgrading my current celeron to something better. it's the celeron in the sig, currently overclocked to a little under 3.8ghz. would it be worth, say, $100, to get an UNLOCKED 2.66ghz p4 (i assume northwood)if i plan to overclock? or would i not see a difference even in cpu intensive apps and games?

Try and find a Pentium 2.4C or 2.8C with an M0 stepping. Those overclock quite well.

True, however that P4 is an engineering sample, meaning that it has unlocked multipliers.

i'd say there wouldn't be a huge difference depending on how much you are able to o/c it

on that cpu, would ~3.1ghz be acheivable with good cooling, do you think?
