CPU usage 99%

each time i try and watch a vid on my pc, the program i use to watch it eats my cpu and goes up2 99%. Ive posted a thread about this somewere else but i cant seem to sort the prob. Ive neva had this prob b4. Ive got the amd 2200+ processor, 1 gig ram and an asrock motherboard. Im in college and i cant rememba da name but its old and crappy. Ive formatted my hard drive to try and sort teh problem but it wont go away ><. Ive tried new codecs too but still it wont go away :( any ideas peeps?
 
#1 what program is it
#2 is that athlon or sempron, or what?
#3 what cpu usage to you get idling?
#4 are you sure its the video thats using the cpu?
ctrl+alt+delete will tell you which processes are using how much cpu and how much ram (personally i like wmplayer for videos, it doesnt use alot of cpu or ram... but i use iTunes for music just because it organizes everything for me and such)
 
Well

Seems to be a software issue with the player you are using. Try installing a different media player and post back.

I think that it is your software. Try using VLC Media Player.

Is it bad that your CPU usage is 99%? Is it slowing anything down? If it isnt affecting anything, then I would not worry about it.
 
if i was u have the vidio player the only thing running u can du this by shutting the tasks down in task manager even explorer it helps then use task manager to find the vid player also try and get the vidios in mpg or avi and use windows media player 9 not 10, 10 eats cpu like hell if you dont have a gd enough processor
