No intel vs amd pls, Is the new Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz LGA 775 Processor better/faster than AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 2.0GHz Socket 939 Dual Core?

yep... but i still love 0601 LDBHE 3800 X2s, as you can get them to 3.2 or so on a decent phase change

yea, the c2d e6300 is around the equivilent of an X2 4400+ overclocked to 2.325ghz. of course, its not exact because they're different architectures... some benchmarks aren't exact with that estimate... but for the most part the core 2 duo architecture is 25% better per clock in benchmarks.
if nobody buys my computer i may end up just buying a new computer altogether. i guess that should be a good thing though lol... use two 80gb in my new comp and use my old comp as a server with my 250gig...
but thats how much better the core 2 duo is... though im thinking i also ought to wait another year to see what AMD counters core 2 duo with, and what intel does after core 2 duo... we shall see..
