CR-RW Drive Come up as CD-ROM

I can't figure out why my CR-RW drive is being registered by the computer as a CD-ROM. It's hooked in. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drive. That doesn't work. It reads CD's but it won't burn CD's. WMP says that I need to add a burner in order to do so but it is a burner. Any ideas??? Thanks.

Is your windows upto date? Also check manufacture for CD Drive website for any updates. Also try burnign with a program such as nero, as might be just that WMP doesnt support that particular drive. Also check for updates for your WMP.

I just downloaded the newest WMP and windows is up to date. I haven't tried burning with Nero but I will. I just don't see why WMP would work with it at one point and then stop a little later. It obviously supports the drive or it wouldn't have worked before.
