Im looking to purchase a new comp. and don't really know what Im looking at when it comes to some of the equipment. I game a lot and process photos. Im looking to get above 50FPS.

Would this rig perform how I want?

Intel Xeon E3-1230 CPU (Quad Core - 8 logical cores) and it has turbo boost.
8GB DDR3 Corsair Vengence Gaming Ram (1600MHz @ 1333MHz)
250GB Samsung EVO 840 has less then 4 months of use.
Gigabyte GTX 760 4GB Overclocked Edition
Corsair CX650M Power Supply and its semi-modular.

Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit Edition
Microsoft Office 2010 Pro

B75M-GL R2.0 Motherboard

Everything looks great except for the processor. Xeon processors are meant to be workstations or servers and not gaming computers. My guess is it would be okay but don't expect anything stellar unless you overclock it.

How would I go about doing that and is it safe to do?

If it's a custom-build you're doing yourself get an i5 but if it has already been assembled with a Xeon it'll be fine.

Yeah, if that's pre-assembled it would be okay. But depending on his budget he could opt for something better.

Should be OK but $800 is a bit steep personally.

The Xeon will perform similarly to a 3770.

For $800 with Windows 8.1 Pro and Office 2010 Pro included it's not a bad deal at all. :good:

Assuming they aren't pirated versions..

It's just kind of a weird build with a lower end board, a Xeon and underclocked RAM..
