Crappy intel Fan

I just got back from computer reapair and they suggested I get a better CPU fan for my intel E6600 processor, if anyone else has one of these processors and fans tell me: is there anything to worry about?

If that is a stock hsf there you may want to consider going for a Zalman or Artic Cooling model. If you plan to oc any then that would be the way to go. As far as cpu fans being a concern the fan went without warning on a Scythe cpu cooler on an older Socket A build where the cpu cooked before a Zalman 7000b could save it. It had already reached the max temp. With a cpu fan being no good get a good one!

nothing to worry about.

if you are overclocking past 2.8ghz it may be a good idea.

probably just trying to sell you things.

Trying to sell something? That's what they are in the business for! "hey you need this or that!" is a common ploy. But if you know the fan does actually have a problem going for a good replacement to prevent a disaster is a consideration not to be ignored.

^- Yeah well, we're talking for a suggestion of a better Intel fan. People has special preferences, but as long as ohers don't tell others to get X because I like it, it's good. Anyways, enough with my complicated dilema.

Here's a great one for you:

And currently out of stock as well! :P Many would simply go for either the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro to save on cost or the higher prices seen on either the Zalman CNPS 9500 or 9700 models. The 9700 has the 110mm fan over the 9500's 92mm. The Zalman models won't fit into some smaller style cases to be aware of however. They have a semi circular array of copper fins around the large fans on them.

I have the 9500, and oh man it is great. Took my temps down a good 7-10C, and then i added Arctic Silver.
