Crashes after installing RAM

Hi,

I recently had a shop install an extra 512x2 into my computer ( I suck with hardware). They were Kingston modules. Now my computer has a total of 512x4 (2gb of ram). However, after the installation there was a lot of crashing. Sometimes it occurred during high memory usage, yet once it crashed just as Windows started up. Sometimes it just crashed, sometimes a half second of sound would repeat 20 times then crash. By crash I mean it rebooted the computer. Just as if I had pressed restart. Except by itself.

Since my computer co. (Gateway), had an option to reinstall windows but backup your harddrive to a "My Backup" folder in the new OS, I reinstalled windows. I thought the problem had gone away but after a while - I heard the familiar repeating half second of soun, but instead of rebooting, it went to a blue screen of death, with the following words:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent further damage to your computer.

An attempt was made to execute non-executable memory. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps.

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware of software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, remove or disable any newly installed hardware or software, disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced startup operations, and select sage mode.

DOes anyone know what it means?

Remove the new RAM you installed and see if the error repeats. That error says that win32k.sys tried to do something that execute disable bit prevents.
