Crazy Cursor

I own an HP laptop with Windows 10 Home.
Sometimes when I use my touch pad to move the cursor, it starts going crazy and I can't control it. The only way to stop it is to try and get it to enter restart or shut down. Why does it do this?

Faulty touchpad. I had a dell studio laptop that did this as well. There was quite a few people online having the same issue with it and they said it was a faulty touchpad. I never did get mine fixed because I never used it enough. If after doing a fresh install of windows it still happens then I would definitely look at getting the touchpad looked at.
