Crazy Cursor

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and somewhat computer savy.

My cursor keeps moving to the location of the mouse pointer. There does not appear to be any pattern to it. Just randomly when I am typing the cursor moves. I have to pay attention to where the mouse pointer is or it screws everything up. It is driving me up the wall.

This was first happening in Windows, I blew windows off and installed Debian Linux and still the same problem. I replaced the mouse and even removed the mouse to only use the Glider Pad, still the same problem.

Has anyone any suggestions. It appears it may be hardware related but what?

The laptop is a Fujitsu C2210. I like the laptop but am growing to hate its very existance.

Thanks in advance,
Charles

I think its hardware too. I've seen this problem before, it was the mouse screwing up, kept double clicking and randomly clicking everywhere and scrolling too. The problem was solved when the mouse was replaced. Now since this is a laptop, you unplugged it & still did the same problem? It can be the touchpad since the beginning and not the external mouse. You can try downloading the latest driver for the touchpad at synaptics or the Fujitsu website and see how that goes.
