Hi im new to the forum, so please shout if i need to put more info

I have a phillips freeline mt2100
Intel Pentium 4 Processor 540, 512MB DDR, 200GB HHD 16X DVD-Rom, 16X DVDRW, ATI Radeon 9250 128MB, TV Tuner, WLan

I have been experiencing random instant shutdowns & CRC unpack errors when every I try to install anything. I activated the blue error screen which indicated RAM problems. I have replaced the RAM to no avial.

I then decided to reinstall windows which then resulted in my hard disc dying!

This has now been replaced with a 40GB maxtor (slightly less than the 200, but i got it for nothing!). I have reinstalled windows but am still experiencing shutdowns and CRC errors.

Could this be my processor or mother board?

Has anyone got any suggestion?

Thanks in anticipation

I suggest go here and run this for a while like i would usually recommend to do it over night

This will check your ram for errors, also does your pc give you a bluescreen everytime or is it random?

thanks i will try running a memory check, this didnt show anything up last time but its worth another go!

I have deactivated the blue screen now so it just switches off and reboots

That wont fix the problem... its better to see the blue screen so you can further trouble shoot the issue.
