Hi, everyone :o

I have a really quick question that I was hoping yall could help me with.

My office uses a particular program for client management which will allow us to link to documents online.

Instead of purchasing online file hosting (I would need a few hundred GB), I was wondering if its possible to simply create a URL to a particular file on my external hard drive.

The program requires it to be a URL, unfortunately.

I would sooo appreciate any help you can give me! Im not an IT person, but Im learning!

You could register on A free web hosting site upload your file to the database and you should get a URL for it too!
I recommend x10hosting.com

I could be wrong though!

if you run a fully qualified domain name network and your systems have FQDNs then you can make a web front end to use them to link the files. I don't quite understand what exactly it is here you are trying to accomplish. Is this file sharing?

You can push out short cuts and map network drives to machines that host these files over your network.
