my computer has been broken for 4month and it was about time to replace it anyways....

MY budget is $600-650
want Game based Amd based or else i might buy http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8783012112&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEBI:IT&rd=1
from ebay for max of $500.

I would like to create my own computer but i'm afraid i will mess up....
please help~i really don't care the hard drive capacity because i already own external hard drive

p.s i checked out newegg website and why is it so cheap?

They buy things in bulk which in return they get to sell things cheaper.

It's a great place to buy things.
Newegg is the only place I'll buy my computer parts from. (I trust newegg)

building is quite easy... and if you need help just come here... you won't break anything as long as you don't force something...

here is my recomendation... ppl, feel free to make corrections...
i did not include a Operating System or a Monitor, Keyboard, or mouse... assuming you could take these from your old computer...

oops... i went about $60 over... u can get rid of some stuff though... even though it would be a major beast the way it is...
Normal Price: $713
After Rebate: $698

so if you want to take out some stuff to make it cheaper, you could get this video card instead...
then it would be around

$652 regular
$622 after rebate...

but it would be muchmore beastly if you payed the xtra $50... but if you dont wish to that would be fine...

don't buy anything until you hear what other people say about this machine...

woo theres a combo price with the raedon x850 with the same athlon but 3500+
do i really need a case? is it possible to stick it in the old comp?
if i do use the combo price than the total would be $654 which is perrrfect
now all i need to do is how to create the computer..
ne way thx encore but are there any other suggestions?

1. Yea you could go with the x850 and the 3500+ if its cheaper, you can overclock to 3700+ speeds if really needed.

2. A case is better, good ones allow for better airflow and cooling. So if you wanna overclock i would get the new case

3. How to create the computer? You mean build it i guess. There are tons of threads on that here and we can definitly help.

ahhhh
i knew i wus missing something
in answer to your qestion, YES you could... or you could buy a dvd burner on newegg for around $39

u couldn't get it cheaper then the current bid, i couln't judge if you could or not until the last 5 minutes of the bidding, biddings change the price crazy at the end...
also, the system on ebay wouldn't hold a thread in gaming to what i configured for u... AMD Athlons kill the pentium 4 series at gaming... i really would recomend AMD for gaming... if you wanted to save a few bucks you could downgrade to this processor. I would not suggest that though because you will only save about $10 and IMO there is more than a $10 difference in performance beetween the 2 processors.... And i don't think you are in the position to overclock.

i could use any brand or kind of hard drive right? or does it have to match the motherboard and stuff*
brand name doesn't matter... as long as the harddrive's interface is Serial ATA150 it will work...

if you want a cheaper harddrive then what i configured, then this will work

i have a computer fair around my area in april 8th...just wonderiing if new egg or the fair has cheaper products....
probably, also alot of stuff at places like that are refurbished:P

i've decided to follow my instinct..so i will await for the computer fair at april 8th and look for the parts you provided for me Mr.Encore.
I saw cheaper parts in fry's same ram but kingston pc3200 400mhz ofr 60, and 250gb for $60 thinks its sata something...

you know waht SCREW computer fair...i cannot wait anymore gameless nights and walking over to friends house to print or doing homework....i want my hard drive of my old computer to be transfered into the new one i am about to create..is ther a way to do this with out losing its memory..and how about ram?
And i found out that fry's electronics are having a sale a athlon x2 3800 with motherboard can't specify the mother board however the price of the processor;motherboard is $279
