Critically Low Disk Space

Hi

I have critically low disk space (something like 41MB and I need a minimum of 200MB). I have a small Laptop (Asus Eee PC series) and it's got very little memory anyway and I'm pretty sure I can't add memory either.

When the warning pops up about the low disk space, I click in to remove programs to free up disk space. My question is: can I move some of my programs from my C drive onto a memory stick? I tried to do it but I only moved the shortcut onto the memory stick and not freeing enough memory. How do I move programs onto the memory stick properly?

Thanks

You cannot simply drag and drop programs to your flash drive. IF the program could be run from a flash drive (not all can!), you'll have to install it on the flash drive, and then remove it from the laptop hard drive.

Also, have you tried getting one of those mini-PCI express SSD yet? I believe they're pretty cheap.

First of all memory and the hard drive are 2 seperate things. The memory doesnt store your information, it just temporarily handles the files while the computer is in use. Your files are stored on the hard drive and then copied to the memory when they are needed. Your hard drives can store information forever without power, and the memory gets erased everytime the computer restarts or shuts down.

What is the capacity of this hard drive?
I can list some options once I know if the hard drive is even of decent size.
