Critique my Upgrade

So I'm getting ready to upgrade my desktop.

I have a few parts that I'll keep (case, PSU, GPU, DVD-RW)as for the rest I'm looking at the following:

MOBO - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16813131188 or http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16813128082

CPU - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16819115029

RAM - http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820220299

HDD - 2 x http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16822148262 (gonna do RAID)

The main question I have is which MOBO to get. I currently have an ASUS and like it a lot, but have heard good things about Gigabyte boards as well. Any preferences between those two boards? Any other boards in that price range I should check out?

Also, any general comments about the setup are welcome.

Thanks.

The Gigabyte P35-DS3L is one of the best boards out, but the first one you linked looks pretty solid.

Totally disagree. Although it may be solid, Asus has the worst RAM compatibility. Also, that motherboard is overpriced like heck! DDR3 support without the use of it. A waste.

Also, that RAM you picked out... Anything over DDR2-800 is crap.

The reason I had narrowed to those two MOBOs is because they both have DDR3 capability (future upgrades and all that)...

Also, why is RAM at >DDR2 800 crap?
