I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work, but your mobo supports SLI, you're not doing that I take it

Why would you say that?

Just because hes only got one at the moment doesnt mean he wont upgrade in the future.

yeah, that's later down the road.

there's a CHANCE i'll get a bfg 7800 gtx oc if my uncle who works at best buy can get it for me a lot cheaper... otherwise this system will be what it is.

..although i would rather have an asus board..

any more opinions?

and should i get this gc http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130249 or the one listed above?

also, what motherboard would any of you suggest?
note the 17 in the model number, those are each of the versions/editions that have come out. The first is 15, which isnt that good , which is why its the lowest. Then comes the 16,17, and now 18.

I would get the evga you chose, because it has a 20mhz higher core clock, and a 50mhz higher memory clock.

hope I helped

Ok seems like you have a $700 budget or so
- DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D [$135]
- pQI turbo 2x512 [[email protected], $75 after $20MIR]
- XFX 7800GT [$280 after $20MIR]
- AMD Athlon64 3500 [S939, Venice, ADA3500DAA4BP, $200]
Subtotal = 690
A bit better performance :)

Because no game will be ever designed for SLI. Thats just common sense and marketing research. Ceterus paribus, game developers want to sell the MOST number of games. Just as Im sure Ford doesnt rely on sales of their fancy GT to carry the company through. Regardless, by the time most people want to upgrade to the SLI, a new card will outperform the SLI config

..although i would rather have an asus board..
Why? They have two (nvidia based) boards worth considering:
- A8NSLI Premium ... this one fixed the problems the A8NSLI DLX had ... and for the price of this board, you can do significantly better
- A8N32SLI DLX ... this board is arguably flawless ... kickass all around (and prolly my current favorite board)

would either the xfx or evga compete with your card?
1. generally speaking if you have to ask, you dont need to know
2. vc101
3. EVGA because of superior warranty
