Hey guys, i currently am running 1 XFX Radeon HD 6870 black edition and am in the market to get another one to run CF for the upcoming titles. It seems its hard to find a new black edition 6870....since the only difference is the OC would i be able to run a regular HD 6870 such as this one???

http://www.amazon.com/XFX-Radeon-MI...046227&sr=8-1&keywords=xfx+6870+black+edition

since im more into spending money on my car lol im not really wanting to save for a 7900 series card

thanks!!!!!!!!!

yep, both cards will just run at the lower speed but you want them too as it will get very hot

same card for less

similar for even less

Or sell it for 100 or 125 or so then spend the 200+100 on a 7950 which will be about the same performance but run cooler and quieter and better

Also need to make sure the rest of your system is up to it, what's you cpu, mobo, and power supply

you also need to look into buying the crossfire bridge, it is based upon the MOBO and the cpu, also do you have enough ram?
you need to make sure your Computer is all compatible and reasonably good before you decide to crossfire your gc

thanks for the reply guys!! ya im most positive my computer is up for it.
ASUS sabertooth 990fx am3+
AMD Phenom II 965 black edition(was but not currently OC'd)
Patriot G series 4GB (forgot the specs)
60 GB SSD
500GB WD caviar blue HDD
custom liquid cooling loop!
750W apevia power supply(may upgrade but i calculated the estimated usage of power while crossfired and its seems to hold up)

as for the heat issue i might add the two cards in to me cooling loop

also ASUS gave me a bridge with my MOBO so that looks like it should be good

If its the bridge that came with the Sabertooth board, its a SLI bridge. Most of the time the bridges that comes with boards are SLI. Most of the ATI/AMD video cards come with a CF bridge.

You need a new PSU before putting any second card in there, particularly with a watercooled pc. Each card has a TDP of around 175W (15A) so you will need 30A just for the cards and that is without overclocking. Add the rest of your system and WC loop, you're asking for trouble.
