Crossfiring.

I have a 5850 and a 5830, and I'm wondering if I can crossfire them. From what I've heard it is possible, but the cards just have to be from the same family ( as in, 58xx or 77xx) so can anyone walk me through this?

As far as I know yes, yes you can do that but bare in mind that they'll work as two 5830s not two 5850s which is a little bit less powerful.

in 1 word, yes you can, no problem but it is as springwater says to you, you will have them both working as a 5830.
