Crypto virus 3.0

My friends computer has been affected by the crypto 3.0 virus. I think Ive removed the virus because the crypto screen isnt coming up. I ran Emsiss emergency kit, malware bytes root kit & rogue killer I can now acess the internet but the pictures & documents are still unacceptable. I've tried to restore them to a previous version but there isnt another version.
Anyway I can unlock the files? Im @ a loss.

Have you tried just right clicking on the folder where the files are stored and click on previous versions? Instead of the files themselves?

Yes the only option is to restore today. not before the files were infected.

Next time you'll learn to make backups to an external drive. I use AOMEI Backuper for this purpose.

But the use of Sandboxie would have went a long way.

I'm not sure about retrieving your files.

I think someone created a few programs that will restore files that were encrypted by this type of malware. I'll look around when I get home from work.

thank you Johnb35. tried emsisoft dycryptor & panada but you need a backup file to compare it to.

Colleagues have been discussing crypto locker at work and I do not believe there is any known way to decrypt files in this manner if there was no previous version.
