i know they were made by the same people. but come on, the more i watch teh vids the more i think fr cry. don't get me wrong far cry is cool. but i got board with it. btw does anyone know how to do god mode cheat on far cry?

The only similarity I can see is that they are both set on a tropical island. Other than that, the games are totally different.

Try typing 'god_mode_count=1' into the console. It has never worked for me but apparently that is the code.

They are the same game, except Crysis will have better graphics.

I bet Crysis will turn out just like Halo 2 for PC... it was really hyped up, but when it came out it turned out to be nothing special. Now UT3 on the other hand...

The main thing i want on crysis is Sandbox 2 and the mod development tools which looks amazing.

Unreal has unreal-ed which is pretty good but the entire game looks better in dark enviroments, mostly indoor.

Also, why did you pick halo 2, it sold 7 million copys in the first year alone. Crysis could do alot worse then that.

I'm not saying it didnt sell well, but from a gamers perspective it was a big flop. Pretty much anyone you ask will say that Halo 2 wasnt worth the money.

That's why it's called a flop, everybody rushed & bought it and didn't like it.

I agree with you I mean far cry and crysis do look alike but from watching the videos I also that crysis is diffrent in ways such as the suit and powers also far cry has nothing to do with aliens invading so its diffrent in plot wise also but I do see where someone could see how they are the same but in the end I think it will be a great game and I can't wait for it to come out but until then bioshock is the way to go:P

well, unfortunetely, i have doubt about the game as well as a few of you, however i think if they made it as easy to run with comparable graphics to far-cry, then my computer could play it easily and i would think differently

I never even finished halo 2.... I got it for Christmas, like a month after it came out. I stopped on the last level.

It's list too dark, plus being so detailed makes it hard to tell what's what.

I wish the graphics would have been like halo 1, and that the guns stayed the same... Oh, and playing as covenant really ruined it for me...

Even though this is off-topic, I completely agree. I loved Halo 1, especially the multiplayer for PC. I played Halo 2 on my 360 and for PC, and I just dont like it at all.

I think it was worse than the original because they tried to appeal to the casual gamer. Auto-aim, instant kill shotgun / sniper / n00b tube, energy swords and dual wielding suddenly turned a decent FPS into a run-and-gun frag fest. Of course this will appeal to casual gamers because they'll go "Oh sick you can blast aliens and junk with dual needlers!" but for fans of the original (myself included) it felt like a great big slap in the face. As if Bungie had forgotten the roots of the game and just thrown money at it to make it look snazzier.

Hopefully, Crytek won't make the same mistake with Crysis. FarCry was fun because of its wide open spaces and freedom to approach situations from various angles. If they focus on these aspects in Crysis, it will pwn. But with all this talk of aliens and lasers, I can't help but feel worried. FarCry was ruined by the introduction of fantasy enemies (mutant monkeys) and the same could easily happen to Crysis.

well.. thats what they noticed in Halo 2.. everyone went dual wielding in the game, making it look like unreal tournament etc. with dual wielding the whole melee and grenading was left behind. and I think they learned from those 'mistakes' (because Imo Halo 2 is still a great game,.. I play it a lot still :) ), hence the assaultrifle is back in halo 3

call me a fanboy (or well, rather dont :P ), because yes, I'm a big halo fan and even with the downsides of both games (1 and 2) I still think both are absolutely brilliant. (tough.. I think its actually the music that does it for me.. it really brings me into the story, mood etc of the game)

and for the on-topic, I cant see what would be wrong with Crysis beeing like FarCry. I mean.. Big maps, possible to sneak past most AI's and if it goes wrong, you can still shoot em and its not "mission failed" right away. sounds like a lot of fun to me :)

I don't think that Crysis and Far Cry are exactly the same, because Far Cry 2 will be out on Q2 2008
