Is CS 1.6 non-steam legal? Meaning, if i got it from a friend for free...would that be illegal? Just wondering, I'm not sure since I'm not paying for it...but since you can't play online at all I'm wondering if that makes a difference?

I suppose so. On most forums where people talk about it it's called "non-staem version" or "LAN only" since you can't play it online, but it's perfect for LAN's.

We actually play it in PC Maintenance in the classroom with a dedicated server, and i'm surprised the school lets us do it considering it's not "legal." CS Club downloaded it on all the computers so u can play if the servers up any tim in the day...jsut hopefully someone else is playing too lol.

Well justthought I would say im amazed at the computers at yourschool, I mean you can play CSS on them  !. The computers at our school are no more than 400mhz each with 16mb graphics card and soo many restrictions I cant even move a fold I made on the desktop on my side.

lol we don't play CS:S we play normal CS 1.6 on them. They are Dell desktop's, not sure of specs. They have badges though for P4, so probably 2GHz or more. Onboard graphics and sound of course, but has no problem for CS. optical mice and your average joe keyboard.

lol jon boy its the same with our school except they just upgraded and we have got 64bit amd's except u cant install anything on them
