CS Sound Problem

Ever since I updated Steam I've had audio problems.

Its in CSS and Garry's Mod.
I am sure its in DoD and HL2.

Sound works perfectly playing music and in BattleField 2.

If I am playing music, and start Steam, it cuts the audio, and plays no in game music.

I am using a sound card.
If I switch back to onboard, you think it'll fix itself?

Have you checked for any updated drivers for your sound card?

I get a similar issue in that occasionally my sound will reset itself to such a low volume it's practically mute. I normally find I can alt-tab out and up the Vs before playing.

I took out my sound card.
It works fine now.
