Curious... could you use your phone as a mouse?

I'm in this weird situation... the answer initially to this question I would think is yes...

but let me explain further

I don't have a mouse... usually when I start a desktop computer I am prompted by a message that says "no mouse detected"

Anyway... if I plug in my android phone into the desktop and assuming an app existed... well

Is there anyway that this could work?

How about a Windows 8.1 tablet... using the screen as a mousepad?

I'm going to get a mouse eventually like in a couple of days but out of curiosity...

Im seeing apps for android. Only two free. and only about 13,000 downloads. i would stay away from.

Oh yeah, the problem is that I don't have internet access yet, not trying to use a long Ethernet cord and also don't have a wifi receiver yet... but I saw one like Phone Remote or something like that. Remote Mouse maybe... I was hoping to plug the phone in via usb and it would detect it like a mouse.

There's a Logitech one too titled 'Touch Mouse'

It's just a client/server app over wireless so you don't even need to 'plug it in'

He said he doesn't have wireless on the computer yet ;)

He could use the wired interface on his PC, being within the same broadcast domain on the network it should have no problems working with one side wired :P

Assuming he only meant 'wireless receiver' as the NIC on the PC. /shrug.

As far as direct wired options like using the phone via USB I don't really know of any.

I don't have ethernet either, router is not in my room.

That mobi app looks intriguing

I have to get one a usb wireless receiver
