I have a 7900 GS

I just got the game world in conflict and its able to run at medium settings.
im looking upgrade to a new dx10 card but im not sure what i should get.

Ive been looking at the 8600 GTS as my best bet in terms of price range and such.

If anyone could give me some knowledge about upgrading that would be really helpful. thanks

Hmm. My 7600gt plays WiC highish on a 1280 x 1024 res, no AA or AS. Maybe a high rez or AA/AS is reducing performance.

But to answer your question a 8600gts is comparable to a 7900gs in Dx9, so it would be a foolish upgrade, offering very little extra performance. If you are looking for a noticeable DX10 upgrade the 8800gts would be the next tier up, checking in around $250-300 bones. It would be a good upgrade, but if you could possibly wait till decemberish prices will undoubtedly fall more, and more cards will be released.

Yup, an 8800GTS would be your next best shot. Do you have your 6pin plugged in? If not it may be downclocking...

6 pin? downclocked? are you talking about my current card?
im not to big on the card terms.

but thanks for the input. glad i didnt go out and buy an 8600 gts. il take your advice and see what the 8800 gts is like near end of the year.

Ya both of them are absolutely right.I bought mine recently and now I am regreting that why didn't I waited a while.
