I am making my own build (first one)
Parts are as follows:

-Intel Core i5 3570k
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Core-35...=UTF8&qid=1340471167&sr=1-1&keywords=i5+3570k

-Geforce GTX 570
Might need help on this, as i don't exactly know which specific model would be compatible

-MSI Intel Z68 (B3) Chipset ATX DDR3 1066 Intel

-G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) Ripjaws X Series DDR3 1333MHz (PC3-10666) 240-Pin. Desktop Memory

-Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 GB SATA III 7200 RPM 16 MB

-Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus (Tower)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ils?ie=UTF8&me=&qid=1325474226&seller=&sr=1-1

-ASUS 24X DVD Burner
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...amp=1789&sr=8-1&creative=390957&condition=new

-Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...amp=1789&sr=1-1&creative=390957&condition=new

-CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 (650W)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...amp=1789&sr=1-1&creative=390957&condition=new

Most importantly are these parts compatible and will they handle well for modern games?

It will be compatible at all but:

the 570 is very good but when affordable take a 670:)
I like the gigabyte Windforce GTX670 OC but people have their opinions about that:P

you better take a Z77 board instead of Z68 it is newer;)

Upgrade your RAM to 1600Mhz instead of 1333;) it is faster:)

then a SSD is a good choice too boost up your pc take a look at that too:)

hope this helps:)

Any GTX 570 would work. Get a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H motherboard instead of the MSI Z68 one you were looking at. Get 1600MHz RAM.

Looks pretty good otherwise.

Alright, I changed the spec's to the following

- Intel Core i5 3570k
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Core-35...=UTF8&qid=1340471167&sr=1-1&keywords=i5+3570k

-Geforce GTX 570
Might need help on this, as i don't exactly know which specific model would be compatible (ie, a link to amazon product would help a ton! :P)

-Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H
http://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Cros...0476927&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte+GA-Z77X-UD3H

-Corsair Vengeance 8 GB
http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Venge...F8&qid=1340477108&sr=8-1&keywords=1600MHz+RAM

-Western Digital Caviar Blue
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...amp=1789&sr=1-1&creative=390957&condition=new

-Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...amp=1789&sr=1-1&creative=390957&condition=new

-ASUS 24X DVD Burner
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...amp=1789&sr=8-1&creative=390957&condition=new

-Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...amp=1789&sr=1-1&creative=390957&condition=new

-CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...amp=1789&sr=1-1&creative=390957&condition=new

Is this still compatible and more effective?

I'm getting the Geforce for free, but my budget is around $750

And of course, the graphics card is free so that wouldnt factor in.

Thanks for the help too! I really appreciate it.

Was advised by by someone that

"first off get the gskill 1600mhz ram because it fits better with coolers liek the hyper 212
(http://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripja...1340480879&sr=1-4&keywords=gskill+1600mhz+ram)
second spend a few extra bucks on the cooler master hyper 212 evo, it has much better contact on the cpu and will reduce hot spots
(http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master...5&sr=8-1&keywords=cooler+master+hyper+212+evo)"

Should i also incorporate this?

I just want to make sure everything will run smooth....
