I am currently using the most outdated HP systems that ever sailed the internet and am looking for a new system. I currently have $2600.00 or so to spend on a new system. Using Newegg.com I came up with this list for what I think would be a great system...lemme know what you think and tell me what you would change.

Your motherboard not compatible with your cpu. Skt 939 cpu requires a skt 939 motherboard. You going to need a PSU. Your rom drive is for laptops.

What are you using this computer for?

The PSU you chose is really bad. look at PSU 101 for some recomendations.

lol yea after reading psu 101 that is a really crappy choice but I am trying to make a good gaming system that will be able to play the newer titles coming out. As for the mobo friend said it was good choice what would you choose?

The motherboard you chose is more for servers and people that want to get the skt939 version of optrons. For a gaming computer I would recommend one of the following.

420 W is a little small... Try getting 500-550 W to be on the safe side. But two rails on 12 V is good, especially when they add up to 38A!
This one is better (but more expensive).

12V : 3 rails, total to 51 A (!!) + 80 % efficiency + virtually inaudible (18dBA) + 3% regulation
