Custom Computer help plzzzz

1. What if have.....

Emachines T2542
2.5GHz
40g hard drive and 80g
I think i have a Radeon 9250 but im not sure
512 memory

2. What i do.....

I play games mostly.... Fps, rpg the likes
I also make movies with Adobe Premiere Pro
I get on Internet...we got highspeed
thats all

3. What im tired of.....

When ever i play games i have to set almost all settings to minimum.... the best resolution i can get right now is 1024x760 (i think thats it) and dislike games going so slow... or with bad graphics...I cant run some games my computer wont let me call of duty 2... doom 3 and it messed up with i played the Time shift Computer.

4. What i want.....

I really want to get a custom computer...i dont need it to look pretty like alienware...it can be a white box... but i want it to be good. i will sell my stuff and will have around 1500 dollers to spend(i can go alittle higher but 2000 would be a little too much).... i already got screen and speakers and keyboard and mouse... I want to be able to play games at good graphics settings and play them well. I usually only have 2-3 games at a time loaded up and Adobe Premiere....thats it so i basically want the best gaming computer i can get for that cash.

5. What i know.....

Basically nothing about buying or building a computer....now get me on the computer and i can do most everything and my moms a computer programer so no worries about that.

6. What i need from you.....

Well I guess you already know what i want but i just want you to tell me what i should get for a around 1500-1800 for best gaming experince. I dont need any flashy lights or pretty cases, no brand names are needed either just the best price.

7. Finally Thanks.....

Any help would be greatly appriciated. I dont know much but will take yalls opinions open armed. I will be watching this closly if yall have any advice or need more information.

Ummm two questions does that com pre assembled and do you know if i can buy that together to get a discount or sumthing.... anybody elses opinions would also be appreciated...or backing up that recomendation....

that all comes from newegg. and no its not preassembled youll have to build it yourself. and i would upgrade the graphics card to a 7800 GTx.
 
1 more thing is that all i need ive looked at other set ups and they got like 10 things on thier list and u got like 5???

A 7800GTX or X1900XT would be a good way to spend the rest of the money, but you'll also need a different motherboard (the 7800GT comes with a free mobo). If you want to save the money, however, that's quite a nice setup. I can't think of anything else that would be needed, aside from the monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers of course,(and there's no additional cooling aside from stock, but it shouldn't be required if your not overclocking), and all the required cables should come with the devices.

Keep in mind you'll also need software, although you may already have that.

ugh.... although that hard drive is good and all... i mean i have it too but dont you think its alittle small? i have that + another 200gb hard drive
