Ok so i have 2x asus 8600GT video cards. Those that know anything about asus video cards you will know, aswell as them sucking compared to the same model from other brands, the 8600gt is also the "silent cooling" one, which apparently is something like 7 degrees cooler than other passive cooled cards (my arse, if other cards are running at 80-90 degrees, they have got it right).
Because of them being so hot i currently have all the back PCI slot panels pushed out so more air can get in (i have low pressure inside) going over the heat sinks and on one of the cards i have an arctic cooling accelero s1 heatsink which is incredible, drops the temp of the card with it by 30 (thirty) degrees when under load. I also have an 80mm fan sat outside the case sucking air through the empty PCI holdes onto the heat sink. This keeps them at a temperature they should be at, about 40-50 degrees under load, however because it is balanced on the floor it isn't the most practical option and means i have to clean my computer every other week because of the amount of dust it drags in.
So i have a Aspire Infinity-x case, piece of crap if you ask me, but can't afford another one yet so to make my problem go away i have considered drilling a hole through the side with 4 screw holes at the corners to put a fan under the one that is currently on the side panel to suck air directly onto the cards without the fan being on the floor. There is enough room there to comfortably seat the fan in the possition but i was wondering the best way to cut a hole. I have a drill attatchment which is about 20 different sized circular blades with teech around to cut different sized circles out however i have only ever used this on wood. would it split/crack the side panel because it is only that plasticy material. I've thought maybe i could clamp the side panel to a piece of wood very tightly to stop vibrations and then drill it very quickly to stop chewing. Would this work?

that is the case. to give you a better idea of where i plan on putting the fan, directly under where the fan is currently on the side panel.
Aspire got bought out by apevia btw, that is why it is apevia on the site but when i got the case it was still antec so it is still an antec case to me ^^
