Cyberdefender or Panda?

I contracted some viruses in the last month, even though I had Norton AV and AVG – both installed by brother.

So, needless to say I am now looking for anti-virus programs, I'm wanting to pay cuz my experience with free ones hasn't been all that good. My borther is recommending Panda anti-virus, but he was also the one who loaded my computer before, so I'm not sure. I do know some forums have it listed as one liked, but I have also found some good reviews of Cyberdefender.

I like Cyberdefender cause it seems to be more complete, covering anti-virus, trojans, spyware, id theft protection. Panda did seem easy to use though.

I'm real concerned about Panda; it just doesn’t seem as good to me, but a lot of people seem to like it.

I checked CNET for reviews, and they rated AVG very high, but my experience was not so good.

I am leaning tord Cyberdefender which is cheaper than Panda for the paid version.

I have heard of Panda, and it is mentioned a lot, but Cyberdefender is not mentioned much. I know Cyberdefender is a public company, but is it a good anti-virus program?

Can someone recommend any others that I should look at?

The first, best defense against infection is the person's internet habits. You can have the very best security software in the world but can still sabatogue' their effectiveness by accessing suspect sites. Then comes the router as the next essential.

I wouldn't load either of those softwares even if you paid me because they aren't very good. Consider these options:

Firewall - two of the very best are free, COMODO and Online Armor with HIPS. I am not sure if OA is Vista ready however.

Antivirus - Avast 4.8 and Avira Antivir have very good free versions and update daily.

Antispyware - SuperAntiSpyware has a good free version that they update regularly. The only thing you must keep in mind is that if you use the free version you must manually update the definitions.

*Keepin mind if it is the free version your options will be less. That is why you want to protect by using a combination approach.

I run Avast 4.8 on three laptops, along with OA and SAS - all free versions - and I haven't had a problem.
