cyclic redundancy error?

When I try to copy files from a CD-RW to the computer, an error is displayed called 'Cyclic Redundancy Error'. How can I fix this?
 
I haven't ever received this error from a CD, but on DVD. After extensive research I discovered with firmware upto date and drivers updated the simple explanantion is: Your drive don't like your disk.

So update the firmare and drivers if need be. What's the make and model of the drive you're having a problem with?
 
Usually, but I've had brand new discs that it's happened on. How old are the discs you're trying to read from.
 
Will you be able to try another drive? A different drive may may more tolerable to the scratch. If it is a small one.
