D:\INSTALL.EXE Redundancy Error

New Member
Noob here - be gentle. I'm installing some s/ware on my HP Pavillion (running XP). The PC works fine, but when I attempt to install Starcraft, a cyclic redundancy error mesage shows. I'm a little loathe to download the free debugging s/ware advertised at the top of a google search, for obvious reasons. Please advise.

Either you have a bad install cd or possible cd drive or bad hard drive.

Check the cd for scratches and fingerprints.

Do other games/applications from cd's install fine?

Are you having any other issues with the system?
