D-Link Router Connection Issues

Hey guys, I'm having router issues.

I just got a new D-Link router today it's the DIR-632.

I love it, it looks great and works fine, until I put a password on it. Before I put the password on it, it shows as an unprotected network named 'dlink'. When I add my network name: 'red04montels' and a password, it changes the name and password fine but no longer gives me access to the internet.

This is what it displays when I connect:

Does anyone know why it displays 'red04montels 3'?

I had this same problem with an earlier D-Link router so I used an old Linksys router for a little over a week. The Linksys is old, doesn't support networking or a password etc...

I'm wondering what my issue may be.

Our internet is setup through a modem, the modem then sends a wire downstairs to a 4 port switch 10/100 I believe, which is then split to all of our rooms. We have a new 8 port switch 10/100/1000 that just got here today, but I don't think that is the issue.

I'm unsure why it shuts the internet off all the time when I change the ID and password.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Nevermind, changing the router IP on each router fixed it for us.

Does anyone know why there's a 3 after the name though?
