i have a moniter with DVI plug, but im looking to get a new video card and not all of the new ones support DVI. So i was wondering if there was some sort of adapter that would change my DVI into d-sub? the DVI is attached to the montor so its not that i just need a new cable MONITOR IS ONLY DVI.

thanks

I've never tried this but I assume there's actually a DVI connector on your monitor, and just a DVI cable running from that. Hehe, find a DVI(M) to VGA(F) converter and plug it into the monitor's port, then just use a regular VGA cable... However, I don'tk now if the montior will automatically adjust the picture, as I think it doesn't need to with DVI but DOES need to with VGA. And being only DVI, it might of not have that feature...

There's probably some sort of converter like what you want, but basically every video card today has at least one DVI. Typically, AGP cards have 1 DVI and one VGA. Most PCIe cards seem to have two DVI... I don't think you'll have a problem
