Sorry for posting a lot lately, but my dad needs a new workstation for 3D modeling, rendering, photoshop, RevIt, he's an architect. This is what I plan to build him

or an amd build

cooler is because people said it runs super hot

no budget as of now, just what is needed. Also, my dad wants a link to a similar prebuilt computer. Not price, just specs, to see how much he will be saving.

You most likely want Intel as they are faster. Not sure if that GPU will be good for graphics design. They make specific GPUs for that sort of thing. A Caviar Blue drive isn't something I would get. You should look at a black or red drive. I would install the OS on a SSD though.

you can get away with a lower end cpu and gpu. If he;s using it for modeling and photoshop, solidworks etc then the 970/780ti is not really needed something like a 760/770 4gb would be fine And while the cpu is very good again something a little lower end will still do very well.

Yeah that should work well, it's much cheaper and as its for rendering you wouldn't really need a 970 or 780ti.
