i have a 19" LCD monitor (SAMSUNG SyncMaster920N). ive had it for about 1 year and i just noticed that the whole left side of the screen (about 2-3 inches of the left side) is kinda blurry. like icons on the left side look like very low quality and the writing is barley visible. is looks as if its running at a really low refresh rate, but everything else is perfectly fine, crisp clear. the refresh rate is currently set at 70Hz. resolution is at the max supported 1280x1024.

I know it sounds dumb, but double check your hard connections. I had a similar problem with my samsung. Turned out the cord was not totally plugged in. Also, are you running the drivers from samsung? Are you running off of VGA or DVI? Back when I had a VGA connection hooked up I had shadows all across my screen. DVI was just fine.
