Hi there,
well basically I'm trying to install my mp3 player (Sony A3000) and it says the drivers are not installed, so I go to Control panel , add hardwear, and it seems to be working, I click on the walkman to install and this message appears
errormessage.jpg

every single time, I really dont know what to do now, on my old computer it just worked the same with my digital camera ( which by the way I am having the same problems with), I just plugged it in via USB and I could use it. but that computer died, and i got a new one which i am very impressed with, I dont know if its a problem with my actual computer, or just something I need to download

please help, im really not sure what to do

thanks

xXx

Did you get a drivers disk with the Mp3?

If so you need to install those drivers,Usualy you get a drivers disk.

Yeah i put the cd in first, and it was all fine and dandy, when i plugged the player in after it had installed it didnt pop up, and then i whent on my computer and clicked on it and it said (code 28) drivers not installed!

which is the point at which i go to control panel add hardwear , then the error message appears ETC

sorry if I'm being thick, but im really confused

hmm have you tried uninstaling the drivers & re-instaling them?

Just try that first.

Thats all i can think of until someone with a little more knowledge about these things comes along to help sorry.

Also does your mp3 player require USB 2.0 but you have USB 1.1 ?
Soppose that could be a problem.

yeah i shall try un-installing them tomorrow im almost certain ive got USB2 its a brand new pc (from CyberPowerPC)

anyways going to bed now,

thanks for all the help though, I like to think I'm quite good on a computer,
but honestly im clueless when something goes wrong

Well hopefully it will work.
If not im sure by the time you wake up tommorow there will be more replies to your problem so you will get it fixed.

Good night;)

What kind of computer do you have? I know you said it's from CyberPowerPC but which model is it?

Um.. this might seem basic, but have you tried restarting the computer after installing the drivers? Sometimes when driver installations don't seem to work on my laptop, a restart was the answer ;)

just an update for you, still stuck , but I took my mp3 player round a friends house and it all worked and drivers installed fine and everything like that, so it must be my computer which im a bit upset about as I have only had it less than two months

as to the model I dont really know, it was a custom thingy they let you choose what to put in, I got a techie mate to choose the bits for it (he doesnt know what to do about this either.)

Its got an MSI NVIDIA nForce4 Standard Chipset Based K8N Neo4-f

( I read that off a box that came with it)

its something to do with the drivers and thats about all I know

all help appreciated
