Data Corruption

Hey everyone,
Basically, I have a problem with data corruption, and it only happens when I download RAR or ZIP files. Usually the problem only occurs when its a large file (10MB+), but in some cases I get corrupt files even when the file is sub 1mb. I haven't run into any trouble downloading .exe files or any other type of un-compressed file, it just seems to be RAR and ZIP files (I constantly get CRC failure). However, there are some RAR / ZIP files that have worked perfectly, so I'm just confused.

I have a suspicion that I have to update my chipset driver / BIOS, but I can't download the updated chipset driver because it always ends up being corrupt when I try to unzip the file.

What I have:
ASUS A8N-E, AMD 64 3700+
1GB Kingston Hyper-X ram
WD 250gb SATA HD
EVGA GF 6600 GS

What I've tried:
Downloading files on to my old hard drives which I know are fine.. still corrupt.
Testing the RAM with "memtest86", passed all tests no errors.
Underclocking the CPU / RAM to test stability, still corrupt.

Please help, I'm plum out of ideas.

I've had a problem like this too. I found that the n-Vidia firewall that comes with the A8N-SLI (my board) corrupts data. I'm sure thiers a setting somewhere that's wrong which was causing it, but I didn't want to take the time to figure it out so I just uninstalled it. Not sure if that's what you're using, but the problem you've described is exactly what was happening to me. Hope this helps.
