Data Recovery

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to retreive lost data on my hardrive, its the hard drive form an old laptop ,which i threw out becasue i spilt coffe in it and burnt out everything, now i have a lot of client documents on it, and someone said it is possible for even an amateur to do something along the lines of forensic data recovery, although it will take a long time to do, am i able to connect up my old hard drive as a slave or external hard drie and recover anything from the "cmd" consul or do i have to have an expensive data recovery kit.
I would be grateful if someone cna advise ,thanks a lot

I would take the drive out of the laptop and hook it up as a secondary drive in another pc and try to retrive the data or you could buy an external case and put it in , just make sure the case is for the type of hard drive you have.

I really think the only way to have this done is to have the hard drive sent to a company and they will try to restore the lost information but it is pricey. Also you can try colt's way...

If the hard drive is not damaged, then you will be able to install it as a slave and pull the info you need off of it. I have done that a couple of times, and it has always worked for me.

I think you have to use some external mean to pull the data out of that HD..and you have to change that HD may be some problem occurs into that HD.so take care on that and if you have recovery problem then first pay attention onto your data so that it must not be destroyed by any means..
