Database Organizer Program Thingy

First off, Hello to one and all. I am new to this forum, but not to the world of computers. Well Met!

O.K... I have hundreds of CD's and DVD's with boatloads of files and programs upon them and I am looking for a program which I can database them with the least amount of difficulty. I plan to purchase 120 disc binders and just label the CD/DVD's as 'Disc 1', 'Disc 2', and so forth. I would like to find a program that I could type, say, 'Warhammer' and the program would list which CD/DVD's have anything related to the word 'warhammer'. I fully understand that I will have a lot of work ahead of myself in the aspect of entering all of the data into the program, but that would indeed save myself much time in the far run. I would greatly appreciate anyones help/advice on this topic. Internet searches for myself have turned up null and void of any such thing..

Thank you.

would Access do that which I want? Or maybe an open-source office program...

If you already have Microsoft Access that would be the easiest way. You could make a simple form where you enter the program name and get a list of all CD's/DVD's for that program..

Excel would work better. Access can get complicated and not user friendly. I do like Access though. Its good and fast if ya have 10's of thousand of entrys. On the other hand a lot can be done with Excel.
