Date & time problem

A strange happening occurs all the times when I am presented the Desktop just after starting my PC. All the time I found time & date setting changed located at the task-bar. I reset the settings all the time but the problem remains the same. What is the proper solution for this? I have Intel 845 chipset motherboard placed in ATX cabinet.

thanks,

I'm not sure what your saying...

so your saying that the time and date is out of sync of what it actually is...., correct???

I would be willing to bet that you have "auto update date and time" checked in your settings This will auto update that info every 24 hours to Eastern Standard Time. I had my computer do that to me....I live in Germany so everyday my computer was 6 hours off. With this option checked....Windows will syncronize your computer time every day. That is great if you live on the East Coast. I use Vista and this is how I fixed that exact same problem :)

1. Go into control panel
2. Select date/time/region settings
3. There will be a box that is checked with the "auto update" option
4. Uncheck that box

I don't think it is the "auto check" problem if your GMT setting is right.
If every time when you turn on your computer, the time is the last time you shut down's time. I agree with TFT, you need to change the battery on the motherboard.
