dbghelp.dll not found

I first experienced the problem while trying to play a cd on my machine (a disk I listened to on other devices). It wouldn't autoplay or otherwise. Now I notice that I can't add/remove programs, install some files even use my webcam. I get the message ".............dbghelp.dll not found". I've tried for days in several ways to reinstall the file with no luck. I need help.

Do a file search for the file to see if its located anywhere on your system. It should be in at least 2 locations if not more.

c:\windows\system32
c:\windows\system32\dllcache

If its not located in c:\windows\system32 then copy and paste the file into the folder. Another way to possibly fix this is to do a system restore back to a day when everything was working fine.

I did the search and it is in 2 places. One is C:\WINDOWS\system32 . anybody? . I don't know how to get to where it needs to be?
actually, I have dbghelp.dll in my downloads file but I don't know what to do with it?

The only place I find it is C:\Windows\System32
And I don't have any issues with add/remove or anything else.

Have you used anything like CCleaner lately?

are you saying you only see it in C:\Windows\System32 on my machine? I was told by Logitech (my webcam co.) to remove all logitech and download from their site but got the message when I tried to remove it. I'm not sure if I've ever used CCleaner.

I am saying that on my computer I only found it in one spot.
And I don't have any issues with my computer.
That is not to say that it may be located elsewhere with apps I don't use, like web cams.

I asked if you had used CCleaner because sometimes when people use stuff like that they remove or make changes to things that they didn't intend to.
