DC 12v to 7.5 V

Im doing this project and want to integrate a cheep router in a computer thats set up to be a server...but i have to find a way to convert 12v power to 7.5 any1 know if there is a converter i can use...thanx

Yeah and a playstation 1 display ive setup to go inside the clear case...to display IP addresses and Temps...i know it bad idea...but we had to come up w/something for shchool.

You will need a voltage regulator to this. You will need to make one out with parts bought from an electronic parts store. This diagram may help,

You cannot use a simple transformer for DC voltage - you will damage the power supply since this will be a short circuit. Simple transformers are use only for AC voltages.

Yes, I have fabricated regulated DC power supplies before. You will have to know correct soldering techniques.
